It’s almost summer time! If you’re going on a long road trip soon, or if you feel that your car is sluggish or not operating at maximum capacity, it might be time for a tune-up. Usually, your car manufacturer will recommend that you get a tune-up every so often. Check your owner’s manual for additional manufacturer recommendations.
What Goes Into a Tune-Up?
At Quanz Auto Body, tune-ups are a thorough check up of your car parts to determine if they are still working properly. Our tune-ups consist of:
- Inspection of your engine, transmission and electrical lines
- Inspection for any worn or damaged electronic parts
- Inspection of your air filters, spark plugs, and fuel filters
- Adjustment of the clutch
- Inspection of the fuel lines
Once we have inspected your vehicle, adjustments and/or replacements are made in the appropriate areas; however, we will also refer to your owner’s manual before making any changes. Not all vehicles are made the same as they have been in the past. Most vehicles on the road today do not have adjustable timing like older models and spark plugs can last up to 100,000 miles depending on your vehicle.
Having your vehicle inspected and tuned up can help you maintain the safety of your vehicle and save you a lot of hassle in repairs down the line. Being proactive and catching any potential issues early on can help you avoid costly ones later.
